According to media reports, Mansi had visited Sayyed to his home in Oshiwara, Andheri. They reportedly had an argument after which Sayyed attacked and killed her. He stuffed the body in a suitcase and booked a cab.

He allegedly asked the driver to take him to Mindspace area in Malad, instead of the destination specified during the booking. Police said he dumped the suitcase in the bushes and ditched the cab. He reportedly escaped from the spot in an autorickshaw. The alert cab driver informed the police, who later recovered the suitcase and also arrested Sayyed.

The accused has reportedly confessed to his crime. He will be produced in a local on Tuesday.

The police said they were still trying to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
