Ahead of the assembly polls on November 28, the Congress on Saturday released the manifesto for Madhya Pradesh.

Calling it a historic day, the Congress, in its manifesto for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, has promised to build ‘gaushalas’ in every Gram Panchayat and waiving farm loans.

The party in its 112-page manifesto also promises a reduction in the electricity bill of farmers by 50 per cent and a slash in petrol and diesel prices among other things.

Addressing a press conference, MP Congress chief Kamal Nath and leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said the party will provide job opportunities for 1 lakh youth in the information technology sector and Rs 2.5 lakh grant to the homeless.

Promoting “Made in Madhya Pradesh” goods, free education for girls, land rights for tribal and Scheduled Castes are among the 75 promises made by the party.

Titled as ‘Vachan Patra’, the manifesto was released by top leaders of the Congress including Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijaya Singh.

With election campaign in full swing in five poll-bound states, an opinion poll by C-Voter has projected a simple majority in Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress is hoping to make inroads in the state that has been under the BJP rule since 2003. The party is also in a pursuit to stitch a larger anti-BJP alliance for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Elections to the Madhya Pradesh assembly will be held on November 28 to a total of 230 constituencies. Counting of votes will be held on December 11.
