MP: MD drug manufacturing unit in Rewa

The police in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district on Tuesday claimed to have busted a mephedrone (MD) drug manufacturing unit and seized 3.87 kg of the contraband, estimated to be worth Rs 10 crore in the international market.

According to Rewa Superintendent of Police (SP) Gurkaran Singh, the drug manufacturing facility was busted in Sonbarsa village under the Gurh police station limits.

Police said two accused were arrested during the raid.

The accused have been identified as Mandap Singh and Chandan Singh, who are brothers.

The police also seized drug manufacturing equipment, chemicals, and other materials used in the production of the contraband.

According to the police, the unit functioned as an inter-state production and supply facility, from where the MD drug was allegedly being transported to Mumbai, Nagpur, and other places.

The accused are being interrogated, and further investigations are underway.
