The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday took several important decisions aimed at the holistic development of Madhya Pradesh and public welfare.
The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at the State Secretariat in Bhopal. To accelerate the state’s progress, the government approved ₹16,720 crore for various development works and important schemes. The meeting focused particularly on strengthening education, agriculture, irrigation, administrative reforms and infrastructure development.
In a major decision, a state-of-the-art Financial Training and Research Institute (FTRI) will be established in the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management in Bhopal to ensure greater transparency and financial discipline in government functioning.
In the interest of farmers, ₹3,174 crore has been approved for the procurement of gram and lentil over the next three years, and the Katna Micro Irrigation Project in Mandsaur district has also been approved at a cost of ₹88.41 crore.
The Cabinet approved ₹5,215 crore for regeneration, restoration, and conservation works in forest areas in accordance with the provisions of the work plan approved by the Government of India. The amount has been sanctioned for a five-year period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031.
To strengthen the education sector, financial approvals were granted for fee reimbursement under the RTE Act, expansion of the PM SHRI School Scheme, and provision of free textbooks for students from Classes 9 to 12.
The Cabinet approved ₹3,039 crore for the continuation of the fee reimbursement scheme under the Right to Education (RTE) Act from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
It also approved ₹940 crore as the state share for extending the PM Shri School Scheme until 2031.
Under the RCS-UDAN scheme of the Government of India, the development and expansion of the government airstrip in Ujjain to facilitate Airbus aircraft operations has already been agreed upon between the state government and the Airports Authority of India through necessary agreements and MoUs. The Cabinet approved the acquisition of 437.5 acres of land and ₹590 crore for this purpose.
Other key decisions included ₹10,000 monthly assistance for Scheduled Caste students studying in Delhi.
