Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday transferred ₹203.56 crore as the social security pension for the month of May to the bank accounts of 33,92,695 beneficiaries, including senior citizens and other eligible recipients, through a single-click digital transfer from the State Secretariat at Bhopal.
Addressing the beneficiaries virtually, Dr Yadav noted that the blessings of elders in a family are like cool shade on a scorching summer day. He said, In Indian culture, respecting the elderly, the helpless and the most vulnerable sections of society is not merely a duty but a sacred obligation.
The Chief Minister affirmed the state government’s commitment to upholding the dignity of every citizen and is making every effort to ensure that no poor family, mother, sister or Divyang person in the State ever feels abandoned or unsupported.
He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation’s resolve to achieve Antyodaya—the upliftment of the last person in society—is being realised. Following the same vision, the State Government is working tirelessly for the welfare of the poor, the underprivileged and the weaker sections of society.
Dr Yadav said that the Social Security Pension is not merely financial assistance but a reflection of the government’s affection, respect and commitment to the security of poor families and Divyang beneficiaries. He said the State Government considers every citizen a member of its extended family and remains firmly committed to safeguarding the dignity of all.
He also highlighted a major farmer-friendly decision taken during the Krishak Kalyan Varsh. He said that farmers in Madhya Pradesh will now be eligible for crop loans at zero per cent interest. Instead of a uniform repayment deadline of March 31, farmers will now have 12 months from the date of availing the loan to repay it, providing them with greater financial flexibility.
The CM said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more than 250 million people have risen above the poverty line over the past decade. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is providing free monthly food grains to over 800 million people, while flagship schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana have created a new chapter in public welfare.
