Laadli Behna funds


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that the BJP state government has so far disbursed over ₹55,000 crore to women under the ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ to promote self-reliance.

The CM transferred ₹1,836 crore into the bank accounts of 1.25 crore women beneficiaries in the state with a single click at a Women Empowerment Conference in the Ashta area of Sehore district.

He stated that India upholds a tradition of reverence for maternal power, and that Raksha Bandhan is now being celebrated every month in the state.

He transferred the 35th instalment of ₹1,836 crore under the Ladli Behna Yojana to beneficiaries’ accounts with a single click.

Dr Yadav stated that comprehensive development cannot be envisioned without the progress of daughters and sisters. He said that after Independence, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a major step towards women’s empowerment is now being undertaken, with plans to ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. A special three-day session of Parliament is scheduled to begin on April 16 for this purpose.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav also inaugurated and performed the Bhoomi Poojan for development works, including newly constructed Sandipani school buildings in Ashta and Jawar, worth ₹184 crore. He also distributed benefits to eligible beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.

The CM announced the establishment of a new ITI in Ashta, the construction of a girls’ hostel in the college, drainage works, and urban beautification in Jawar. The announcements also included district-level hostels for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students, a new building for a girls’ higher secondary school in Ashta, the introduction of a science faculty in Jawar College, construction of barrages at Guradia Khurd and on the Dudhi River, canal construction, and a Geeta Bhavan.
