Reiterating that women remain the top priority in the state government’s welfare agenda, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday transferred more than ₹1,835 crore to over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries as the 38th instalment of the Laadli Behna Yojana.
Addressing a state-level programme at Lahar in Bhind district, Dr Yadav said the state government was firmly committed to women’s empowerment. Under the scheme, women beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 per month as financial assistance.
During the event, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 56 development projects worth ₹322 crore in Bhind district. These included newly constructed buildings of four Sandipani schools. He also announced the expansion of postgraduate courses at the Government College in Lahar.
Dr Yadav said the government was working for the welfare of women, youth, farmers and the poor. He further announced that the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva would be launched soon to improve public transport facilities across the state.
Highlighting the government’s focus on regional development, the Chief Minister also outlined the ongoing infrastructure and welfare initiatives being undertaken in the Gwalior-Chambal region.
