MP CM launches campaign for school admissions

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Wednesday congratulated the State School Education Department for bringing the dropout rate in government schools down to zero, and simplifying the admission process for Classes 1, 6, and 9 in government schools, resulting in a significant 19.6 per cent increase in overall enrolment during the academic year 2025–26.

The CM also expressed happiness over the government schools in the state recording a 32.4 per cent increase in enrollment, reflecting growing public trust in the government education system. He informed that the state government has set a target of 1.45 crore student enrolments in schools during the current session.

Dr Yadav made the remarks after launching the State-Level Praveshotsav-2026 under the ‘School Chale Hum’ campaign at the Model Higher Secondary School at T.T. Nagar in Bhopal.

On the occasion, the CM distributed free bicycles to students. The campaign is being organised from 1 to 4 April, under the theme ‘Har Nanha Man Jude, Shiksha Ki Roshni Se’.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that 369 Sandipani Schools have been established in the states, which are among the best schools in the country.

The CM informed that sincere efforts are being made to strengthen the school education system so that children can grow up to become doctors, engineers, and entrepreneurs. He stated that to address the shortage of teachers, 76,325 teachers have been appointed in a timely manner.

He said that for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, 1,913 hostels with a capacity of 95,000 students are being operated in the state. In 25,439 schools run by the Tribal Affairs Department, over 20 lakh students are currently studying.

He informed that a total of 94,306 meritorious students who secured 75 per cent or more marks in the 2025–26 board examinations have been provided free laptops. In the 2026–27 state budget, provisions of Rs 250 crore for laptops, Rs 100 crore for scooters, and Rs 210 crore for bicycle distribution have been made. School toppers in the board examinations are also being awarded scooters.

He asserted that the state government is providing various facilities to ensure quality education and essential resources for students. Under these initiatives, meritorious students are being provided laptop assistance, while the Scooty Scheme and Bicycle Distribution Scheme are encouraging students to pursue education.

To promote digital education, smart classroom facilities are being introduced in middle schools, high schools, and higher secondary schools. Additionally, a tracking system has been implemented to identify dropout students and facilitate their re-enrolment, ensuring that more children are connected to the mainstream of education.

The CM emphasized that the state government has resolved to ensure 100 percent enrolment at the high school and higher secondary levels this year.

The CM asserted on the occasion that the campaign will prove to be an important initiative towards expanding education in the state, ensuring access to quality learning and connecting students with the mainstream education system.
