MP CM cites tehsildar’s suspension to inculcate decency in public servants

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav

Stressing that any form of misconduct or indecency towards the public by government officials will not be tolerated, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav informed on Sunday that Virendra Kumar Patel, Tehsildar in-charge of the Mauganj district, has been suspended with immediate effect for using offensive language and misbehaving with a citizen.

The CM emphasized that the foremost duty of public servants is to treat citizens with sensitivity, empathy, and a spirit of serving and helping them.

The disciplinary action against the Tehsildar was taken after a video went viral on social media, showing the officer’s inappropriate conduct with a person.

The Mauganj Collector submitted a report in the matter, and acting on the report and recommendation of disciplinary action submitted by the Collector, the Rewa Division Commissioner, B S Jamod, suspended Tehsildar Patel with immediate effect for misconduct.
