Acknowledging the crucial role of teachers in building a bright future for students, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, on ‘Teachers’ Day’, announced to give the benefits of the Fourth Time Scale payment to nearly 1.5 lakh teachers of government schools in the state.

The CM also transferred Rs 330 crore in the accounts of 55 lakh children for purchasing school uniforms.

Addressing the state-level function at Bhopal on Friday, Dr Yadav said that the government will give the fourth time scale hike to assistant teachers, senior teachers of the educational cadre, primary teachers of the new educational cadre and secondary teachers.

“This will benefit 1.5 lakh teachers of the state”, the CM informed.

He said that for this purpose, a proposal will be brought to the cabinet, and from 2025-26, teachers will get the gift of the fourth time scale. This will put an additional burden of Rs 117 crore on the government.

The chief minister also transferred Rs 330 crore into the accounts of 55 lakh children of Classes First to Eighth for purchasing school uniforms.

He also informed that Sandipani schools are being opened in the state. The CM said the results of government schools have been better than private schools this year, and it has been the best in 15 years.

The chief minister said that in the Indian tradition, since time immemorial, the basis of meditation is the form of the Guru, the basis of worship is the feet of the Guru, the basis of mantra is the words of the Guru, and the basis of salvation is the grace of the Guru.

He noted that in ancient times, the Guru used to prepare the rulers for the future, just as Maharishi Vishwamitra took Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman with him and destroyed the demons by giving them knowledge of weapons and scriptures.

“Similarly, after killing Kansa, Lord Krishna reached Maharshi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain and performed many Leelas”, he said.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and CM Yadav also honoured a number of teachers on the occasion.

The Governor said that in the era of social media, the family environment is also changing, and so in such a situation, it is necessary to keep children disciplined. Teachers should take care of discipline in school, and parents at home, he emphasised.

He said that this will create a sense of respect for elders in the minds of children. The Governor asserted that teachers should be respected in society.

Former Vice President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan had said to celebrate his birthday as Teacher’s Day, and in his honour, since then, teachers have been honoured on 5th September in the country.
