The monsoon has once again become active in Uttar Pradesh ahead of Dussehra. On Tuesday morning, heavy rains lashed 10 cities, including Kanpur, Gonda, Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, and Noida. In Hathras, the rainfall was so intense that roads were flooded, and power supply was disrupted in several areas.

In a tragic incident, three people lost their lives due to lightning, with one fatality each reported in Mathura, Shravasti, and Kannauj. Meanwhile, several districts in western Uttar Pradesh remain overcast.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 17 districts today. This marks the resumption of rainfall in the state after an eight-day dry spell.

Lucknow weather office meteorologist Atul Singh said, “A new low-pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal. This has reactivated the monsoon. Thunderstorms and rain are expected across the state until October 3.”
