The Government on Thursday reportedly shifted around 70 terrorists and hardcore pro-Pakistan separatists from Kashmir valley to a prison in Agra.

They were flown to Agra in a special plane provided by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The move came moments after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the abrogation of Article 370.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Pakistan used Article 370 and 35A as a weapon to instigate the feelings of some people against the country and that the two articles gave Jammu and Kashmir people nothing but separatism, terrorism and huge corruption.

Slamming Pakistan, Modi said that the neighbouring country used Article 370 as a weapon of terror which resulted in the death of more than 40,000 people since 1989.

Jammu and Kashmir would not stay a Union Territory forever but Ladakh will continue to remain one, said the PM, adding that now people will elect their own representatives and we will eliminate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister also assured that any problem of people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was his own and the Centre would be with them in their happiness as well as sad moments.

His announcement came days after the scrapping of Article 370 which gives special status to the region, and the announcement to bifurcate the state into two Union Territories.
