A day after launching a no-holds-barred attack on Narendra Modi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday continued his tirade against the prime minister accusing him of failing to provide people of Bihar employment opportunities and quality healthcare.
Addressing an election rally in Sheikhpura, he raised the issue of migration of the people of Bihar for jobs and medical treatment, asserting that the state was once a centre of education and should become one again.
He said a city like Dubai was built by the hard work of the people of Bihar but they are not getting employment within the state. “What is the reason behind Bihar’s youth going to other states to do manual labour but cannot get the work in Bihar? Second question: why do you have to go from Bihar to AIIMS Delhi for medical treatment… Why can’t you get treated in Bihar,” he asked the audience.
“Bihar used to be a centre of education long ago; it should become one again. There should be the world’s best university in Nalanda, the whole country should know that the best education is available in Bihar,” he added.
The Congress leader accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of stopping Operation Sindoor against Pakistan under pressure from US President Donald Trump. “He (Narendra Modi) is a coward. Fifty times, the President of America said he called Narendra Modi and told him to stop Operation Sindoor completely. Donald Trump says Modi got frightened in two days and stopped the operation. He is insulting the prime minister every day but he does not respond because he is afraid of Donald Trump,” he said.
“A fearful man like this cannot give development to Bihar — let alone India,” he declared.
Reiterating his vote-theft allegations, the Congress MP cautioned people of Bihar against BJP’s attempts to rig the assembly elections like Maharashtra and Haryana. “These people are busy stealing votes. They rigged elections in Maharashtra and Haryana and then tried to rig Bihar’s election as well. That is why we started the ‘Voter-Adhikar Yatra’ here, and people raised their voices loudly against them. They will try to steal your vote at the last minute.,” he said.
