Modi reaches Varanasi, to launch key schemes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in his Parliamentary Constituency of Varanasi on Friday for his 2-day visit to launch a several infrastructure projects.

Modi was received at the airport by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Governor of UP Shri Ram Naik, CM @myogiadityanath and other dignitaries welcomed PM @narendramodi to Varanasi,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.

The list of projects that will be launched by Modi include the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul – a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts and flagging off the Mahamana Express– connecting Varanasi with Surat and Vadodara in Gujarat—through video link.

He will also inaugurate banking services of the Utkarsh Bank, which specializes in micro-finance and dedicate a Jal Ambulance service, and a Jal Shav Vahan (hearse van) service via video link.

In the evening, Modi will visit the historic Tulsi Manas Temple in Varanasi and release a postal stamp on “Ramayana”.

On Saturday, he will briefly participate in a sanitation related activity in the village of Shahanshahpur followed by a visit to the Pashudhan Arogya Mela.
