BRS giving walkover to BJP for Kavitha’s bail: Revanth
Reddy on Wednesday accompanied the Congress candidate for the Secunderabad seat when Danam Nagender submitted his nomination papers.
Highlighting that as Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi wanted to rename Ahmedabad as Karnavati, hardline BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday asked the Prime Minister to finalise the alteration as he occupies the top post now.
“I urge PM to restore original name Karnavati for Ahmedabad. As CM he had sent the proposal to PM MMS. Now Namo is PM so he must finalise it,” Swamy tweeted.

The Rajya Sabha MP had made a similar demand back in April while attending an event in Gujarat.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been long demanding the name to be changed to Karnavati after a Hindu king, Karan Dev, who is said to have established the city in the 11th century.
Earlier in the day, Swamy had suggested that the BJP should ask all its leaders and ministers to wear Indian attires and refrain from consuming alcohol.
