Meerut Development Authority’s (MDA) official website was reportedly hacked by unidentified persons, who replaced its homepage with highly objectionable pro-Pakistan messages and slogans.

Officials informed that those visiting the official MDA website on Saturday saw a black screen that displayed objectionable messages rather than the usual information, PTI reported.

Post the incident, the technical and information technology (IT) teams of the MDA made efforts to restore the website and secure the server.

According to reports, the website was then taken offline and placed under maintenance.

“The hacking of the Meerut Development Authority’s website has come to our notice. The website is under maintenance for the time being. A case is being registered in connection with the incident, and the matter will be resolved soon,” Superintendent of Police (City) Vinayak Gopal Bhosale told PTI.

Further investigation in the matter is currently underway.
