Amid the row over stand-up comedian Pranit More’s Gurugram show, medical student Sejal Pawar, whose remarks comparing the sizes of male cadavers’ private parts sparked massive public outrage, has been sent on 15-day forced leave.
Her entry into the hostel and college premises has been banned for the same period of time.
The action was taken after a video of Pawar from More’s show went viral on social media.
According to news agency ANI, King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College have formed a five-member committee to probe the viral video and submit the report within seven days.
Keeping in mind her safety and security, the hospital and medical college authorities have handed her over to her family.

Dr Harish Pathak, Dean of the KEM Hospital criticised her remarks, terming them “completely unacceptable and intolerable.”
“We exercise sensitivity when it comes to talking about dead people since their organs can be donated for medical purposes,” said Dr Pathak.
In the viral video, Sejal is purportedly heard talking about dead bodies and how their parts are chopped. She went on to joke about comparing the size of genitalia of dead male cadavers.
She later apologised for her remarks and said her intention was never to disrespect anyone.
“I genuinely want to address a clip from a recent video that has been circulating. Having watched it back, I completely understand why people were upset by what I said. The topic is a sensitive one, and my comments came across in a way they shouldn’t have. While there was never any intention to disrespect anyone, I recognise that impact matters more than intent,” Pawar said in a statement.
The medical student further stated that she understands what went wrong and promised to reflect on the way she communicates when discussing sensitive issues.
“As a student, this has been a learning experience for me, and it has made me reflect on the way I communicate, especially when discussing subjects that deserve greater thought and sensitivity. To everyone who was disappointed or hurt by the clip, I understand what went wrong, and I am genuinely sorry for that, and I would never let this happen ever again!” she added.
