Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President and four-time former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has strongly dismissed reports that the party may contest the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in alliance with other political parties.
Calling such reports “fake, baseless and misleading,” Mayawati said here on Wednesday that discussions in certain sections of the media about the BSP entering into an electoral alliance were part of a deliberate attempt to misguide the public. She reiterated that the BSP would contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections independently, as previously announced on multiple occasions.

She recalled that on October 9, 2025, during a massive rally in Lucknow held on the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, she had clearly declared that the party would fight the next Assembly elections on its own strength. Despite this public announcement, she alleged that some political opponents and media outlets were continuing to spread “false and fabricated” news to divert attention and damage the party’s image.
Without naming specific leaders, Mayawati criticised parties such as the Indian National Congress, the Samajwadi Party, and the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing them of having a “narrow mindset” and opposing the ideology of Dr. BR Ambedkar. She stated that any alliance with such parties would serve only their electoral interests and would harm the BSP politically.
Mayawati urged party workers not to be distracted by what she described as “conspiracies” aimed at weakening the BSP ahead of the 2027 elections. Referring to the party’s 2007 electoral victory in Uttar Pradesh, she expressed confidence that the BSP would once again secure a full majority on its own.
Addressing another controversy, Mayawati also responded to reports regarding the recent allotment of a Type-8 government bungalow to her in New Delhi. She termed the allegations surrounding the allotment as misleading and politically motivated. According to her, the bungalow was allotted keeping in view her security requirements, which, she said, have been in place since the 1995 Lucknow State Guest House incident.
She recalled the June 2, 1995, attack at the State Guest House in Lucknow and stated that she has been under high-level security since then. As a former Chief Minister and national party president facing ongoing security concerns, she said the Type-8 accommodation had been allotted appropriately and in accordance with norms.
Mayawati warned that as elections draw nearer, political opponents would intensify their efforts to weaken the BSP. She appealed to party workers across Uttar Pradesh and the country to remain committed to the party’s mission and to strengthen the movement inspired by Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals with dedication and unity.
