Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati has convened a crucial meeting of the party’s national executive on Sunday to strategize for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The announcement of the meeting came a day after she reiterated her party’s decision to contest the polls independently, ruling out any alliance for the high-stakes electoral battle.

The national executive session will see participation from zonal in-charges, state unit presidents, assembly-level coordinators, and other key organizational office-bearers.

According to party sources, the primary focus of the meeting will be on strengthening the BSP’s grassroots structure, expanding its mass outreach, and reviewing preparedness across constituencies ahead of the 403-seat contest expected in early 2027.

During internal discussions, leaders are expected to assess booth-level organization, cadre mobilization, and strategies to reconnect with core support groups, particularly Dalits and other marginalized communities. The leadership is also likely to outline plans for intensified public outreach campaigns across districts in the coming months.

Mayawati is expected to caution party workers against what she has described as “political conspiracies” aimed at weakening the BSP’s base. She has repeatedly urged cadres to remain vigilant and disciplined, while focusing on public issues such as inflation, unemployment, law and order, and social justice.

In her recent remarks, Mayawati criticized caste- and religion-based politics, arguing that such approaches deepen social divisions and undermine national unity. She has emphasized that the BSP’s ideology remains centered on social transformation and equitable development.

The meeting comes amid intensifying political activity in Uttar Pradesh, with major parties ramping up organizational efforts well ahead of the 2027 polls. Observers view the national executive session as part of the BSP’s broader push to rebuild its electoral strength and reassert its influence in the state’s evolving political landscape.
