With the objective of making planned, coordinated and balanced development of the National Capital Region (NCR) more effective, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development Manohar Lal on Tuesday chaired the 42nd meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB).
The Union Minister shared that extensive discussions took place on strengthening institutional coordination between Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the meeting.
During the discussion, emphasis was laid on improving regional transportation and connectivity facilities, accelerating the implementation of development projects, and various other important matters related to the NCR.
Manohar Lal, taking to social media platform X, sthat that the NCRPB provides an important platform for coordinated development among the states, playing a key role in advancing the NCR toward more planned, accessible, efficient, and sustainable development.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Haryana CM Nayab Saini, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and UD Minister Rajasthan JS Kharra were present in the meeting.
The Union minister said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented work has been done in the direction of rapidly advancing infrastructure over the past 12 years. The Modi government is firmly committed to preparing next-generation infrastructure in a bid to achieve the goal of a ‘Developed India.’
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, CM Saini shared that as per a decision taken during the meeting, there won’t be any changes with regard to the areas of the NCR. He said discussions were also held on the region plan of up to 2041, and to finalise that a sub- committee has been formed which will have centre and state officials, who will discuss and assess the suggestions given by the state, and the panel will submit its report by August 15.
He said suggestion were sought from the states with regard to the development of Namo Cities, adding that the meeting was positive and productive.
