Man jumps to death from multistorey building in Delhi

A 40-year old man, working at Income Tax Building, jumped to death from the 28th Floor of Civic Centre in Central Delhi on Wednesday, Police said the incident took place at around 10.25 am. The deceased has been identified as Divesh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Delhi, Shweta Chauhan said that the information regarding the incident was received by the local police on Wednesday morning. A police team reached the spot near the Income Tax Building.

The man was found lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased was working as data entry operator in the Office Number-34 on the 8th floor of the Income Tax Building.

The police officer said the body has been preserved for the post-mortem examination. As per the initial inquiry, the deceased was in depression for some time. Police are talking to his family, friends and colleagues to ascertain the exact reason for his extreme step.

As of now, no foul play has been suspected. Further investigation is on, said the police.
