Man dies of cardiac arrest while performing Surya Namaskar in Madhya Pradesh

A man died of cardiac arrest while doing yoga and performing the Surya Namaskar on the occasion of ‘World Meditation Day’ on Sunday in Ashok Nagar town of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the police, the deceased, Narendra Soni, 55, was a jeweller. He was a regular yoga practitioner along with many others who gathered daily in the early morning to practice yoga at Tulsi Sarovar Park in the town.

At around 5.45 a.m. today, while Narendra was performing the Surya Namaskar, he suddenly collapsed and became unresponsive. Fellow yoga practitioners and others present at the spot tried to revive him, but he did not respond.

Soon, some policemen on patrol duty arrived and attempted to administer CPR, but there was still no sign of movement. He was then rushed to the district hospital in a police jeep.

Doctors and paramedics also attempted CPR to revive him, but in vain. He was subsequently declared dead by the doctors.
