Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Saturday slammed the opposition parties and Congress president Rahul Gandhi during a public event in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun.

Rahul baba apna stand clear karo. Aap uss sthaan pe mandir chahte ho ke nahi chahte ho. Main danke ki chot pe kehta hoon, ki ussi jagah par bhavya Ram mandir banna chahiye (Make your stand on Ram Mandir clear, Rahul Gandhi. Do you want a temple at that place (the disputed site)? I can say this with conviction that the grand Ram temple should be built there),” he said at the Trishakti Sammelan in Dehradun.

Shah has previously accused the Congress of creating roadblocks in the path of the construction of Ram Mandir.

Addressing booth-level workers of the party, Shah said that while the chief and the PM candidates in most parties of this country are decided according to dynasty, the “BJP makes a poor man the PM”

Shah was comparing the humble origins of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to some of the prominent leaders of other parties.

In his address, the BJP chief also attacked Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati over their newly-formed alliance in Uttar Pradesh.

“These alliance people say remove Modi while Modi says eradicate poverty. These alliances and their leaders cannot do anything for the country. Neither will they be able to conduct surgical strikes,” he said.

“Opposition only talks of removing PM Modi. They will be blessed if they chant the name of Lord Narayana instead of Modi,” Shah said.

Commenting on the Interim Budget 2019 presented yesterday, Shah said that the Opposition was left dumbstruck when Finance Minister Piyush Goyal was delivering the Budget speech.

“The Modi government has presented the biggest defence budget in the history of the country,” Shah said.

Underling the tax rebate announced by Goyal yesterday, Shah said that there cannot be a bigger relief for the middle class than the exclusion of those whose annual income is Rs 5 lakh outside the tax net.

“For the sake of security and development of the country it is necessary for Modi to become PM again,” he said.

Over 17,000 booth-level workers of BJP from two parliamentary seats, Tehri and Haridwar, participated in the ‘Trishakti Sammelan’ in Dehradun on Saturday.

Motivating the participants, Amit Shah asked the workers to carry the message of BJP in every house and cover even the families living in the far flung areas.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP made a clean sweep from Uttarakhand by winning all the five parliamentary seats. Shah made an appeal to end cast based politics and family politics through performance based politics.
