In a startling lapse of security, a car driven by a masked man crashed into the Delhi Legislative Assembly premises on Monday afternoon. The vehicle smashed through Gate No 2 at around 2 pm. This sent alarm through staff and security personnel.
Once inside, the car moved briefly within the Assembly complex before exiting and disappearing. Authorities confirmed the driver placed a flower bouquet near the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and even threw ink at the Speaker’s car during the brief intrusion.

UP registration vehicle under investigation
Police sources revealed the car carried a UP registration number. A detailed probe has been launched. CCTV footage and other evidence are under scrutiny to trace the vehicle and identify driver.
Investigators are also reviewing all access points and questioning Assembly staff present during breach.
This act comes shortly after the Assembly received bomb threats during the recently concluded budget session. Now it raises serious concerns over the adequacy of current security measures.
