The Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh is witnessing intensified organisational activity ahead of the crucial 2027 Assembly elections, with preparations reportedly underway for a major reshuffle in the state unit.

State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary is currently in Delhi, where several key organisational meetings are expected to take place.

According to party sources, the proposed new team may include several fresh faces, including the sons of some senior BJP leaders.

Sources said Pankaj Chaudhary is likely to hold detailed discussions on organisational expansion and the formation of the new state team with BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde.

He is also expected to meet senior functionaries at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters, where the organisation’s views may be sought regarding the appointment of new office bearers. These meetings are being linked to the restructuring of the Uttar Pradesh BJP unit.

Sources further claimed that several current office bearers could be dropped from the existing “Team Pankaj” as part of the reshuffle.

In a significant development, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s younger son Pankaj Singh may reportedly be replaced by his elder son Neeraj Singh, who is likely to be assigned an important organisational role.

Sources also indicated that senior organisational functionary Sanjay Rai could be removed from the new setup. Meanwhile, Abhinav Sinha, son of Manoj Sinha, is likely to be entrusted with fresh responsibilities within the organisation.

The BJP is reportedly focusing on strengthening the organisation from the booth level to the state level ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Along with introducing new faces, the party is also giving special attention to caste equations and regional balance while finalising the new team.

Party insiders said extensive consultations have already taken place with senior leaders, including BJP National President Nitin Nabin, General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the inclusion of Uttar Pradesh leaders in both the state and central teams.

The picture regarding the new organisational structure is expected to become clearer after Pankaj Chaudhary’s ongoing Delhi visit.
