On the fourth and final Monday of the holy month of Shravan tomorrow, Kashi’s presiding deity, Baba Vishwanath, will be adorned with a grand Rudraksha decoration at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, offering devotees a rare glimpse of Mahadev in this divine form.
Every Monday during the sacred month of Shravan, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham is beautifully decorated to reflect different divine manifestations of Baba Vishwanath.
Devotees have so far been blessed with the darshan of the Chalit Murti (moving idol) on the first Monday, Gauri Shankar on the second, and Ardhanarishwar on the third.
On August 9, the full moon day of Shravan, the temple will feature the traditional Jhula Shringar (swing adornment), adding to the month’s devotional grandeur.
Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust CEO Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said that a special Rudraksha Shringar Aarti will be performed on the fourth Monday evening, providing devotees a spiritually elevating experience. Roads begin to fill with long queues of faithful devotees a night before, eager for darshan, reflecting their unwavering devotion to Mahadev.
The UP government has ensured comprehensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shravan festivities. Special facilities have been provided for devotees and Kanwariyas, including water, ORS, medical aid, and lost-and-found centres. Free golf cart services are available for elderly and differently-abled devotees from Maidagin and Godowlia, with the area declared a no-vehicle zone.
In response to rising Ganga water levels, the government has issued directives for heightened vigilance at all ghats. Security has been significantly strengthened, with drone surveillance, patrolling along the Kanwar route, deployment of additional police forces, and temporary police posts. Women police personnel have also been stationed for the safety of women pilgrims.
Shravan, considered the dearest month to Baba Vishwanath, is believed to bestow special spiritual rewards upon those who receive his darshan on Mondays. The overwhelming response from devotees over the past three weeks is a testament to their deep faith and the spiritual magnetism of this sacred occasion.
