Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne, a leader of the Sunetra Pawar-led NCP, stated here that Sunetra Pawar must take over as Maharashtra chief minister whenever Devendra Fadnavis goes to the Centre or becomes Prime Minister of India.
“The work done by Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister is remarkable. Many in the state want him to take the top leadership of the country. The right time will come soon for a person from Maharashtra to take the top position and lead the country. If Devendra Fadnavis goes to the Centre, who will lead the state is the question. The workers and leaders of every party want their own party’s leader to become the Chief Minister. Similarly, I also want NCP leader Sunetra Pawar to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra,” Bharne said.
“I am sure that in 2029 or 2034, a Maharashtrian will become the head of the country. It is the collective wish of the people of Maharashtra and the farmers,” he added.
When media persons asked who he believed could become the prime minister from Maharashtra, the Agriculture Minister replied, “Devendra Fadnavis”.
