A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men in a forested area in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
The minor victim lodged a police complaint on Friday night. The police said they have arrested one of the accused and a hunt is on to nab the remaining four.
The victim told police in her complaint that she had come to Datia town on Friday morning to buy clothes. There, she met a relative of hers. The boy, along with a friend, took the girl to Udnu Ki Toriya forested area on a scooter.
The victim further stated that three men were already present there and they raped her in turns. She said that afterwards, her relative and his friend also raped her, while one of the accused made videos.
She said that the culprits then threatened her with making the video viral on social media if she told anyone or complained to the police.
The victim, however, gathered the courage to narrate the incident to her father, mother, and other family members, after which they brought her to the police station at night and lodged the complaint.
According to Datia SDOP Akanksha Jain, based on the victim’s complaint, a case under the POCSO Act and other sections has been registered against the five accused, including Hargobind Pal, Pankaj, Karan, and two others.
The officer said that Hargobind has been arrested and a search is on to nab the others.
