Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP government looted the public for ten years through heavy taxes under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act and now, when they are feeling rejected by the masses, trying to provide some sop .
“The BJP made false promises to the public and deceived them. The government should explain whether it will return the profits earned over the years by increasing GST? The BJP government entangled businesses and traders in a flawed GST. The government made huge profits through heavy GST and allowed profiteering. The public groaned under the burden of inflation but on the other hand the government continued to fill its own coffers and those of its people. The public has understood the BJP government. They previously collected higher GST by increasing taxes and now are harping on reducing it. Why did the government burden the public with such heavy taxes,” he questioned.
He also charged the UP government of ruining the state in every sector.
Speaking to the media after visiting the Lion Safari in Etawah on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav said the dream of the Etawah Lion Safari, once envisioned by Netaji and the socialists, is now moving forward. The Etawah Lion Safari is gaining national fame.
Akhilesh Yadav stated that the BJP government is unable to provide fertilizers, seeds, electricity, and other amenities to farmers. Fertilizers are being black-marketed in the state. Farmers have had to stand in lines for fertilizers and stage protests, but still, DAP and urea are not available. He appealed to farmers to remove the government that is unable to provide fertilizers, seeds, and water, and unable to purchase crops.
The SP president stated that the BJP government has filed false cases against several Samajwadi Party leaders, including Mohammad Azam Khan, and harassed them. The government is conspiring against Samajwadi Party leaders. On one hand, the BJP government doesn’t even release a list of the top ten criminals in each district, while on the other, it sends innocent people to jail on false charges. “This government is committing immense injustice and atrocities. The public is watching. Today, from police stations to every other place, people of a single caste dominate,” he alleged.
Mr. Yadav stated that the BJP government engaged in massive rigging in the by-elections and robbed the election. Officials were assigned duties through administrative pressure. The people of Ayodhya had defeated the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP used all sorts of tactics to win the Milkipur by-election. They made postings based on caste, appointed ministers based on caste, and manipulated votes.
Akhilesh Yadav further said that the entire country is aware of the BJP’s style of working. The BJP government has failed in every respect. The economy has been ruined. The rupee is falling. Inflation is rising.
He said the saffron party’s economic and foreign policies have failed. Today, the number of India’s friendly countries in the world has dwindled. Even those previously considered friendly countries are now harassing India in trade, snatching away trade and business from India. The BJP government has no answers to these questions.
“We all saw Indians being sent back in shackles and handcuffs. They were humiliated. Indians have never faced such humiliation as they have under the BJP government. The restrictions being imposed on H-1B visas will cause significant hardship for Indian companies and Indians and Companies’ business will decline,” he claimed.
