The Congress, on Saturday, continued its intense attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as they headed for a clash in the poll-bound Karnataka.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being ‘all talk and no show’.

The 47-year-old Gandhi alleged, “Dear Modi ji, You talk a lot. Problem is, your actions don’t match your words.”

Sharing a video from his official Twitter handle, he wrote, “Here’s a primer on your candidate selection in Karnataka. It plays like an episode of ‘Karnataka’s Most Wanted’.”

Through the video, Congress charged the BJP of fielding ‘tainted’ candidates in the elections. The Congress poses a series of questions while listing out names of some BJP leaders who have cases against them.

“When will you speak on your top 11 leaders facing corruption charges?” is a question that appears in the video, followed by names of top Karnataka BJP leaders such as B Sriramulu, G Somashekara Reddy, and former deputy CM R Ashok among others with the number of cases against them.

The Congress, which is in power in Karnataka, also questioned the BJP’s decision to make BS Yeddyurappa the CM candidate.

The video ends with a ‘post script’ message aimed at the PM which reads, “P.S: You can refer to a paper for answers”. The message was a response to the PM’s dig at Congress president Rahul Gandhi during an election campaign on 1 May in the state.

Earlier today, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had issued a “5-minute challenge” to PM Modi while sharing the same video.

“Dear PM @narendramodi avare, I am glad you have made corruption an issue in this Election because that is your weakest point,” wrote Siddaramaiah, adding, “You are making baseless allegations of corruption about our Govt.”

“Can you speak for 5 minutes on the ethics of using the Reddy Bros’ to win an election?” he asks.

PM Modi is scheduled to address four rallies in the high-stakes political battleground of Karnataka involving the Congress, BJP and Janata Dal (Secular). Two of the rallies are in Lingayat strongholds of Shivamogga and Tumakuru.
