Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Sunday praised the Sindhi community’s unity and spirit of service at the VSHFA’s “Strong Society – Strong India” programme in New Delhi. “The Sindhi community has strengthened the country’s economy through courage, perseverance, and entrepreneurship,” Birla said in his address.
He highlighted the community’s significant contributions to various sectors, including industry, banking, and services, employing millions. Birla emphasised that the Sindhi community’s emphasis on education, innovation, and self-reliance is driving India’s growth.
“The developed India of 2047 will only be possible through the collective efforts of 1.4 billion Indians,” Birla said, stressing the importance of unity in diversity. He also appreciated the community’s philanthropic efforts, saying their contributions to charity, social service, and education are expanding India’s social strength.
Birla thanked Vishwa Sindhi Hindu Foundation of Associations (VSHFA) for preserving cultural heritage and contributing to nation-building.
