Reji Lucas, an active Leftist voice in Malayalam TV channel discussions, on Thursday joined the BJP. He accepted the BJP membership from party’s state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar at the BJP headquarters here.

Speaking after accepting the BJP membership, Reji said rotten ideas are no longer relevant and that there is hope in the BJP’s development ideas in Kerala. “The new generation here is leaving the country. We must keep them here. If we continue with the old rotten ideas, our state will become a big old age home,” he added.

He further said that he had given up all ties with the CPM from today onwards. “Today, a channel called me for a debate. I said from today onwards, my voice will be different. From this moment on, my actions and words are for the BJP,” said Reji Lucas.
