In a major administrative reshuffle at the Noida Authority, 2011 batch IAS officer Krishna Karunesh has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

He has replaced Lokesh M, who was shunted out after the death of an engineer, Yuvraj, after falling into a roadside ditch.

Previously, Krishna Karunesh served as the Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of the Noida Authority.

Karunesh has also previously served as the District Magistrate of Gorakhpur. During his tenure as DM, he made a name for himself through strict administrative measures, effective enforcement of law and order, and close monitoring of development projects.

Discipline, quick decision-making, and accountability were emphasized during his time in office.

This appointment comes at a time when the death of engineer Yuvraj Mehta in Noida’s Sector-150 has been continuously in the news. This incident raised serious questions about systemic negligence, official accountability, and the role of the administration.

Given the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself took cognizance of the issue and constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the investigation.

According to sources, as the new CEO, Karunesh is expected to enhance administrative transparency, ensure accountability, and bring greater rigor to development projects in the Noida Authority. His priorities are likely to include builder projects, construction site safety, official responsibility, and matters related to civic amenities.
