Zaira Wasim, the 17-year-old National Award winner actor, was allegedly molested by a co-passenger in a Vistara airlines flight from Delhi to Mumbai.

She went on to share her ordeal via an Instagram story after de-boarding from the flight.

“Managed to get this,” Zaira posted with a snapshot of the man’s foot, which was rested on her arm rest.

The star of “Secret Superstar” then added: “The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another 5-10 minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck.

“So, I was in a flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai today and right behind me one middle-aged man who made my two-hour journey miserable. I tried to record it on phone to understand it better because the cabin lights were dimmed, I failed to get it.

“It was all chill till I felt somebody brushing against my back while I was half asleep. I ignored it the first time. Blamed the turbulence for it. Until I woke me up to this pleasant sight of his beautiful foot rubbing my back and neck.

The “Dangal” film actor Zaira has been embroiled in controversies earlier. Here is a look:

In January 2017, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Goel had tweeted a photo of an art event, whichshowed him standing before a painting that showed two women – one in a hijab and another cowering in a cage.

“This painting tells a story similar to @zairawasim. Pinja torh kar hamari betiyan barhne lagi hai aage (Our daughters are breaking out of their cages and moving forward.) More power to our daughters!” Goel wrote.

Wasim’s replied to Vijay Goel in a set of tweets. She told Goel he should not have connected her to “such a discourteous depiction”. She also said that women in hijab are “beautiful and free”.

“Moreover, the story depicted through this painting is not even remotely relevant to mine,” she said.

Goel replied to her tweets, saying she had wrongly interpreted his tweets and added that “I appreciated your work and stated that evil and patriarchal notions must be discouraged”.

In January 2017, Zaira kicked up a row after she was hailed by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as a role model for Kashmir. In response, Zaira issued an apology on her Facebook and Instagram, for “offending” and “unintentionally hurting” people after her meeting with J-K CM, which she deleted shortly after. Subsequently, several Indian celebrities have voiced their support for Zaira Wasim, denouncing her critics.

In 2016, Wasim was crticised by radical Muslims for being “un-Islamic”, after photos of Wasim with short hair for her role in the film “Dangal” surfaced on social media.
