Union Ministers, former Chief Minister compete in Northeast in first phase of election
Among the contenders, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stands as a formidable force, vying for the Arunachal West seat.
Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju underwent a minor surgery for sinusitis at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Friday.
After the surgery, the minister took to Twitter and informed about his wellbeing.
“Both my kidney stone removal and Septoplasty partial turbinectomy plus meatal antrostomy surgery were successful. I’m completely fine & recovering well. I’m extremely grateful to the entire team of Doctors & Staffs at AIIMS. I’ll be indisposed for few days,” Rijiju wrote on Twitter on Friday.

The 46-year-old was admitted to the old private ward of the hospital on Thursday, sources said.
Rijiju is likely to be discharged either this evening or tomorrow, a source said.
