Khurda Road Division registers record Rs 15.63-crore ticket checking revenue

Indian Railways

The Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has recorded its highest-ever ticket checking earnings of Rs 15.63 crore during the first quarter (April–June) of the 2026-27 financial year.

During the period, railway authorities detected 2.37 lakh cases of ticketless travel, irregular travel and unbooked luggage, up from 1.92 lakh cases in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting intensified efforts to curb revenue leakage.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anil Kumar S attributed the achievement to sustained enforcement through intensive fortress checks, massive ticket checking drives, surprise inspections and mid-section checking campaigns across stations and trains.

He urged passengers to travel with valid tickets and advised regular commuters to avail concessional season ticket facilities such as MST, QST and YST for travel in MEMU and local trains.

The division said ticket checking drives will be further intensified to curb unauthorised travel and ensure hassle-free journeys for genuine passengers.
