A day after the India women’s Under-19 cricket team created history by winning the inaugural World Cup, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday met the family members of India U-19 captain Shafali Verma at her residence in Rohtak.
Congratulating them for their daughter’s historic achievement, Khattar said the country and state are proud of Haryana’s daughter and her team for creating history by winning the first-ever ICC trophy.
Speaking to the family members, the CM said the Indian women’s cricket team has won the Under-19 World Cup under the leadership of Haryana’s daughter, which is a matter of pride for every Haryanvi. He extended best wishes to the young Indian squad for a bright future.

The Indian Women’s Under-19 Cricket team, led by Shafali Verma created history and won the World Cup by defeating England. In the final match played on 29 January, the Indian team defeated England by seven wickets. With this India became the first country to win this tournament.

India beat England in the first-ever ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final on Sunday with an emphatic seven-wicket victory.
