Kharge, Rahul Gandhi extend festive greetings, highlight spirit of unity and renewal

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday conveyed greetings to people across the country on the occasion of several harvest and regional New Year festivals, underlining their message of hope, prosperity, and unity.

‎In a post on X, Kharge extended his wishes for festivals celebrated across different regions, including Baisakhi, Bohag Bihu, Puthandu, Poila Baisakh, Biju, and Maha Bishuba Pana Sankranti. He said, “Our warm wishes on the joyous occasions… marking the arrival of the new year in different parts of our country, these festivals bring with them renewed hope, optimism and the spirit of fresh beginnings.”

‎Highlighting the larger significance of these celebrations, Kharge added, “May these celebrations fill every home with joy, usher in prosperity, and strengthen the bonds of unity and amity among all.”

‎Separately, Rahul Gandhi extended greetings on Baisakhi, stating, “Heartfelt greetings to all of you on the festival of Baisakhi. May this festival bring abundant happiness and prosperity into your lives.”

‎Observed across various parts of India, these festivals mark the onset of the harvest season and the beginning of traditional New Year calendars. They are celebrated with cultural rituals, community gatherings, and festive enthusiasm, reflecting the country’s rich diversity while reinforcing shared values of harmony, renewal, and collective well-being.
