Pune Rural Police have found no CCTV footage while verifying claims that two accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case secretly married at Rajasthan’s Khatu Shyam Temple, with investigators saying the inquiry into the alleged wedding is still underway.
The verification comes after reports claimed that accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chowdhury had solemnised a marriage at the temple. Police said they have not confirmed the claim and are continuing to examine the matter as part of the broader murder investigation.
Police visit Khatu Shyam Temple to verify marriage claim
A senior police official said a Pune Rural Police team travelled to the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan to verify the reported marriage.
Investigators sought CCTV footage from the temple premises during the visit. However, no CCTV footage was available, the official said.
Police maintained that the alleged marriage has not been officially established.
Accused remain in judicial custody
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chowdhury are currently lodged in Yerawada Central Jail under judicial custody in connection with the Ketan Agarwal murder case.
Their present period of judicial custody ends on Thursday. Both are expected to be produced before the court for further directions.
Victim’s mother seeks PM Modi’s intervention
Separately, Ketan Agarwal’s mother, Rakhi Agarwal, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for justice in her son’s murder case.
In an emotional letter, she described the family’s grief following the killing.
“My son was brutally murdered, and with him, meri poori duniya chali gayi (My whole world is gone). Every corner of our home reminds me of him. His room, his clothes, his photographs, and the silence that has replaced his laughter remind me every day that he will never come back,” she wrote.
Rakhi Agarwal also said the tragedy was compounded when Ketan’s grandfather died less than three weeks after the murder, unable to cope with the shock of his grandson’s death.
