The state of Keralam has begun to receive clear verdicts seat by seat, and the early declared results, drawn from official data of the Election Commission of India (ECI), point to a decisive surge for the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF). While counting continues across all 140 constituencies, the results already declared, along with party-wise leads, indicate a strong shift in favour of the Opposition alliance after a decade.

According to the latest party-wise figures, the Indian National Congress has won 6 seats and is leading in 54, taking its total to 60 seats. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has won 2 seats and is leading in 26, with a total of 28 seats. The Indian Union Muslim League has won 1 seat and is leading in 22, taking its total to 23 seats. These figures underline the UDF’s clear advantage in both declared seats and ongoing leads.

Congress wins with big margins

Among the seats where results have been declared for the Congress, victories have come with commanding margins:

  • Puthuppally (98): Adv. Chandy Oommen registered one of the biggest wins, with a margin of 52,907 votes and 84,031 votes in total.
  • Haripad (107): Ramesh Chennithala won by 23,377 votes, securing 68,184 votes.
  • Nilambur (35): Aryadan Shoukath won by 54,851 votes, securing 113,586 total votes.
  • Thrissur (67): Rajan J. Pallan won by 26,803 votes with 60,290 votes.
  • Udumbanchola (89): Adv. Senapathy Venu won by 20,021 votes, polling 64,916 votes.
  • Kollam (124): Adv. Bindhu Krishna won by 16,830 votes with 63,416 votes.

IUML opens account

The IUML, a key UDF ally, has also registered its first declared win:

  • Thiruvambadi (32): C.K. Kasim won by 6,741 votes, polling 77,140 votes.

CPI(M) results declared so far

From the LDF camp led by the CPI(M), two seats have been declared so far:

  • Shornur (51): P. Mammikutty won by 16,517 votes, securing 70,583 votes.
  • Alathur (60): T.M. Sasi won by 8,553 votes with 61,564 votes.

Clear trend emerging

The scale of margins in multiple Congress victories, particularly in Nilambur and Puthuppally, reflects a decisive voter swing. Combined with strong leads across constituencies, the UDF has moved well ahead of the halfway mark in trends, while the LDF trails significantly behind.

With more results expected through the day, the early numbers already suggest that Keralam is heading towards a clear political turnaround, with the UDF firmly in command of the electoral battlefield.
