Dissident-turned-independent MLA G. Sudhakaran openly lashed out at CPM Kerala State Secretary M. V. Govindan, calling him the ‘real class betrayer’ and demanding that he either resign or be removed from his post.

Speaking to the media in Alappuzha on Monday, Sudhakaran accused Govindan of presiding over major party defeats spanning from the local body level up to the Parliament. He specifically pointed out that the Opposition UDF managed to win five seats in Govindan’s hometown of Kannur, an issue Govindan failed to address.

Sudhakaran launched the attack in response to Govindan calling CPM defectors “class betrayers” who need to correct their mistakes to return. He argued the comment targeted him, though M. V. Jayarajan first brought up rebel candidates contextually. “Govindan doesn’t know what ‘class betrayal’ means or what class is. He thinks he is a literary person because of the baseless label given to him by the media,” Sudhakaran alleged.
Sudhakaran, who allowed his membership in CPM to lapse rather than being expelled, accused Govindan of ideological incompetence and ruining the party’s foundation in Kannur.

The former CPM leader argued that Govindan entirely lacks the capability, ideological clarity, and theoretical understanding of what “class” or “class betrayal” means.
The former CPM leader argued that Govindan entirely lacks the capability, ideological clarity, and theoretical understanding of what “class” or “class betrayal” means. He asserted that Govindan has worked actively against the interests of workers and farmers, making him a traitor both “theoretically and practically.”

He stated that MV Govindan is unfit for his position and must either resign or be removed by the party.

Highlighting his own long-standing loyalty since the AKG era, Sudhakaran dismissed Govindan as a junior leader who is actively destroying the party from within. He pointed out Govindan’s indifference to the UDF winning five seats in his native Kannur. Sudhakaran labeled him a “class traitor” for betraying the very workers and farmers the party represents

The veteran leader clarified that he has not joined any other political party after leaving the CPM and remains an Independent MLA who is allied with neither the LDF nor the UDF. He noted that any attempt at a party revival or corrective measures under Govindan’s leadership would be completely ineffective because Govindan is “incapable of correcting himself.”

M V Govindan has on Sunday completely rejected any soft approach towards party rebels, explicitly defining their actions as “class betrayal” and stating that they will continue to be criticized as class betrayers.

Speaking to the media in Thrissur on Sunday, MV Govindan said that rebel party leaders who contested elections with the support of the United Democratic Front (UDF) committed “class betrayal,” but they can be taken back into the party fold if they correct their mistakes.
Meanwhile, anther rebel leader T. K. Govindan MLA has accused CPM leader M. V. Jayarajan of orchestrating a “well-planned conspiracy” to damage the public image of party State secretary M.V. Govindan

Speaking to the media in Kannur on Monday, T.K. Govindan alleged that M.V. Jayarajan has an “ulterior motive” in reviving internal discussions about past CPM Assembly poll defeats. He believes the primary goal is to weaken the standing of the state secretary, M.V.Govindan. Govindan alleged that M.V.
