According to sources, Shah listened to all of them and held talks about the current situation in the valley and to bring normalcy in Kashmir.

Home Minister Amit Shah, last month moved resolutions in the Lok Sabha to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and to bifurcate the state into two union territories – J-K and Ladakh.

Defending the abrogation of Article 370, which grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Shah opening the debate, asserted that “Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India”.

Jammu and Kashmir was under a lockdown with Section 144 imposed across Srinagar and other sensitive areas of the Valley earlier. The government snapped telephone, mobile and Internet services in the Valley and deployed heavy security to control any untoward incidents.

The clampdown is currently being relaxed in stages and mobile and internet connectivity have been restored in several areas.
