Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party and exclaimed that party’s campaign in Karnataka is off to a fabulous start. The Gandhi took to Twitter and shared the video in which BJP chief Amit Shah can be seen saying that the “Yeddyurappa government is the most corrupt”.

“Now that the BJP IT cell has announced Karnataka elections, time for a sneak preview of our top secret campaign video! Gifted to us by the BJP President, our campaign in Karnataka is off to a fabulous start. He says Yeddyurappa ran the most corrupt Govt ever,” tweeted Gandhi.

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah’s ‘slip-of-tongue’ moment while addressing a press conference in Davanagere left the party and its state chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa embarrassed.

Shah said: “Recently a retired Supreme Court judge said if there was ever a competition of the most corrupt government then the Yeddyurappa government is number one…” which, for obvious reasons, shocked Yeddyurappa and the BJP.

Soon after Shah’s statement, BJP MP Pralhad Joshi whispered into Shah’s ear: “Siddaramaiah government” and after realising his mistake, Shah immediately corrected himself saying that “arre re…Siddaramaiah government is number one in corruption.”

Taunting the BJP, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the party’s own national president had termed Yeddyurappa as the most corrupt government.

In a tweet, Siddaramaiah said that Shah has finally spoken the truth.
