Odisha Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday inaugurated Kalika, the crèche facility at Kharavel Bhawan, developed to provide safe, nurturing day-care support for the children of working mothers and staff.
The initiative is poised to strengthen work-life balance within government establishments and marks a step forward in inclusive, empathetic workplace support systems, Deputy CM Parida said on the occasion.
With colourful activity spaces, trained caregivers and an environment designed for learning, play and well-being, Kalika aims to help children blossom while ensuring parents-especially mothers-can focus on work without stress.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, speaking on the occasion, said “Kalika is an important intervention in building a workplace where motherhood and professional responsibility go hand in hand. When employees feel supported, productivity and dignity grow together.”
“A child-friendly space like KALIKA sends a message — that care is part of our work culture. This initiative will ease the lives of working mothers and foster an environment where children can flourish with love, learning and security”, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department Usha Padhee said on the occasion.
Kalika stands as a milestone in Odisha’s vision of a modern workplace — conducive to productivity, rooted in compassion, and nurturing the future through every child it shelters.
