Kerala High Court retired judge KT. Sankaran, appointed by the court to appraise all valuables of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, on Saturday reached the Sabarimala temple’s main strongroom at Aranmula and began inspection to prepare an inventory of all valuables.
The inspection was conducted on Saturday at the main strong room of Sabarimala, Aranmula, under the leadership of amicus curiae Justice KT Sankaran appointed by the Kerala High Court.
Thiruvabharanam Commissioner R Rajilal, Devaswom gold Smith, Devaswom Vigilance SPD Sunil Kumar, and Local Fund Deputy Director Rama also participated in the inspection.
Justice Sankaran arrived at Aranmula after completing the examination of other strongrooms within the Sabarimala temple premises, a process that began earlier this month.The process is expected to take several days to complete, sources said
Meanwhile, a team of the Special Investigation Team(SIT) , probing the Sabarimala gold heist case, has recovered gold believed to have been looted from the Sabarimala Dwarapalaka sculptures from a jeweller’s shop in Bellary in Karnataka .More than 400 grams of gold was seized from Roddam Jeweller’s shop owned by Unnikrishnan Potty’s friend Govardhan
Meanwhile, the SIT is continuing to collect evidence in Bengaluru with prime accused Unnikrishnan Potty. The SIT took the prime accused, Unnikrishnan Potti, to Bengaluru as part of the ongoing evidence collection process on Friday.
The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Ranni had granted the SIT custody of the accused until October 30 for evidence collection.
