The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday arrested a Srinagar man allegedly linked to the ‘white collar’ terror module case.

The arrested person has been identified as Tufail Niyaz Bhat. A resident of Batamaloo area in Srinagar, Bhat is currently being interrogated by the SIA.

According to the officials, his arrest was part of the ongoing investigation into the ‘white collar’ terror module that was busted by the Jammu and Kashmir police from Haryana’s Faridabad.

The module was busted after posters threatening the security forces were found in the Bunpora area of Nowgam last month.

During the investigation, the Jammu and Kashmir police nabbed a doctor, who was reportedly caught on CCTV camera from a site where posters were pasted on a wall.

Following his investigation, the police found credible leads and raided the Al-Falah University in Haryana’s Faridabad and arrested a doctor named Muzammil Ganaie.

Later, several more doctors, who were linked to the ‘white collar’ terror module, were also arrested.

The module was also behind the Red Fort bomb blast in New Delhi earlier this month. Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who worked at the Al-Falah University, detonated a car bomb near the Red Fort on November 10, killing at least 15 people and injuring over 20 others.

He was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the ‘white collar’ terror module case, the officials added.

The entire module was busted after Srinagar Police began an investigation into posters — threatening police and security forces — pasted on walls in Bunpora, Nowgam, in mid-October.
