The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two terrorists who allegedly attacked a police post in Srinagar’s Chanpora on Friday in which a policeman was injured, reports ANI.

The two were arrested on Sunday from Wathora, Budgam.

Following the Friday attack, the J&K police had informed that there was a brief exchange of fire in which one policeman, identified as Constable Feroz Ahmed, was injured who was evacuated to a hospital.

The area was cordoned off and search operations were carried out in the area.

The Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted on Saturday, “#Constable Feroz injured in the yesterday’s #terror attack is being treated at #SKIMS #Soura. IGP #Kashmir along with #DIG CKR & #SSP #Srinagar met him and his family at SKIMS Soura. We #pray for his speedy #recovery.

However, there is confusion over the number of terrorists arrested.

Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP Srinagar said, “J&K Police has arrested 3 JeM terrorists from Wathora, Budgam. They carried out an attack on a police post in Chanpora, Srinagar last Friday. One Chinese pistol, 2 magazines, 6 live rounds have been recovered from them. Further investigation is underway,” reported ANI.
