Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has approved the Jharkhand Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Special Exemption) Bill, 2025, paving the way for a new legal framework to simplify industrial operations and attract investment in the state.
The Bill, passed during the Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly, seeks to promote industrial growth through the MSME sector by easing approval procedures and reducing bureaucratic hurdles for new enterprises.
Under the new law, several permissions and inspections required for the establishment and operation of small and medium industries will be relaxed. It also introduces a single-window system to provide all licenses and related services through one platform, making the process more transparent and efficient.
Officials said the legislation is expected to accelerate growth in the MSME sector, attract new investors, and support small business expansion. The state government believes the reform will improve Jharkhand’s “ease of doing business” ranking and generate local employment opportunities.
With the Governor’s assent, the Bill will now be notified, giving it full legal effect. Once implemented, it is expected to serve as a key driver of industrial activity and entrepreneurship across Jharkhand’s districts.
