Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday visited the residence of late former School Education and Literacy Minister Ramdas Soren at Ghorabandha, Jamshedpur, and paid floral tribute to his portrait. He was accompanied by his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the grieving relatives. Ramdas Soren passed away on 15 August while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi.
Calling the loss “irreparable,” Hemant Soren said, “Barely a fortnight after the passing of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, the demise of Ramdas Soren is a personal and collective tragedy. The void created cannot be filled.”
The Chief Minister recalled Ramdas Soren’s contribution to the Jharkhand movement under the leadership of Shibu Soren. “He had built his identity through struggle. His role in the movement for a separate Jharkhand was significant. Throughout his public life, he stood with people in their hardships and problems,” he said.
Hemant Soren also underlined Ramdas Soren’s efforts as Education Minister. “He was working to improve government schools and provide quality education to children in rural areas. He had initiated several measures to strengthen infrastructure and ensure holistic development of underprivileged children,” the CM added.
“Though he is no longer with us, his work and personality will continue to inspire,” Soren said.
