Pakistan indulged in unprovoked and indiscriminate firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhimber Gali sector violating the ceasefire, yet again, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the officials, Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at 8.45 am in Bhimber Gali sector along the Line of Control.

The Indian Army retaliated with force.

However, there was no damage reported in the firing so far.

The fresh ceasefire violation comes just days after 500 people were forced to abandon their homes in the state’s Uri sector and migrate elsewhere.

The Pakistani Army has been violating the bilateral ceasefire agreement on the LoC with impunity since the beginning of 2018.

On Monday, heavy shelling was reported from along the LoC in J-K’s Rajouri sector as Pakistan violated the ceasefire.
